Rothek Stencil — Geometry, with a Cut
Rothek Stencil is a stencilled grotesk released by Groteskly Yours in 2022. It builds on Rothek, the geometric sans serif released through Groteskly Yours, and keeps the original proportions and structure of the family. Subtle optical compensations help the design hold together in a stencilled format, keeping it clean and readable across weights.
Rothek Stencil comes in 20 styles (static fonts) or as one variable font. With over 1000 characters per font, it supports more than 200 languages, including most Latin-based languages, Extended Cyrillic, Vietnamese, and many more. Use it alongside the original Rothek as a display/headline font—or as a headline stencil font for projects that need that unmistakable cut. Although designed for larger sizes, it works surprisingly well as a text font.
The full Rothek Stencil type family includes 20 static styles (Thin to Black & matching Italics). The variable font incorporates both axes (Weight and Slant) and can be used for web and graphic design alike. The 20 static styles can be purchased separately or as part of Rothek Stencil. Two styles (ExLight and Bold Italic) fonts can be downloaded free of charge.
